      • About me

        I am a specialist in technology development, investment and innovation in emerging markets, which has included a concentration venture capital, entrepreneurship ecosystems, and climate finance, among other sectors.

         

        I have spent my career working with development finance institutions, impact investment firms, and technology startups, including the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Schmidt Futures, Clean Energy Venture Group, the United Nations, Oxford University, Systematic Ventures, Wamda, Ashoka, and Mercy Corps. I have extensive experience leading teams and advising founders, corporations and governments on the intersection of investment, entrepreneurship, and development.

         

        I am also an investor in climate-tech startups, and have also helped to build funds and technology ecosystems in a range of countries, including Jordan, Greece, Serbia, Singapore, Oman, Ukraine, Egypt, Japan, Kuwait, Iraq and Bangladesh.

         

        I am currently a Fellow at the Truman National Security Project and an On Deck Climate Tech Fellow. I was also a Fulbright Fellow, and a Fellow at New America Foundation, and am also an adjunct professor at American University.

         

        My work has been featured or cited in SSIR, WEF, McKinsey, TechCrunch, Wall Street Journal, Innovations Magazine (MIT), Al-Jazeera, World Bank, United Nations, Brookings, and Wharton publications, as well as university curricula and books.

         

        I have an MBA from INSEAD, an MA from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and a BA from Bowdoin College.
